Non-Integrated Credit Card Processing

Making Non-Integrated Credit Card Payments in your Point of Sale

Updated over a week ago

What's the Difference Between Integrated and Non-Integrated Credit Card Processing?

"Integrated Credit Card Processing" means that our software will speak directly to the credit card terminal, automatically calculating how much will be charged on the credit card from the data collected in the point of sale, allowing staff to skip manual entry.

"Non-Integrated Credit Card Processing" means that the credit card terminal and the Point of Sale are not connected, and manual entry from the staff is required to complete a sale. All non-integrated credit card payments will need to be completed separately within both the credit card terminal and the Point of Sale.

You can use most any credit card processor with ConsignCloud Non-Integrated. ConsignCloud partners with Gravity Payments to offer integrated credit card processing. Read the article below to learn more about Integrated Credit Card Processing and Recommended Hardware:

How to Make Non-Integrated Credit Card Payments in ConsignCloud Register

Begin by making a Sale in ConsignCloud. Read the articles below to get started with making basic sales:

Once you've added all of the items in the purchase to the sale, you're ready to accept payment. First double-check that all items have been added, and that you've made any adjustments that need to be made. When you're ready, hit the Pay button at the bottom of the screen.

In the list of payment types at the top of the sale summary, click on "Credit Card" to begin your transaction. If you have a terminal setup already, simply input the same amount from the sale into your credit card processor. (In the example above, put $220 into your terminal) and complete the credit card transaction. Now that the item has been paid for by the customer, you can click "Tender" in your POS to take you to the next screen and finish the sale.

The completed Sale will be marked as a Credit Card Payment in the Sale Detail Page:

How to Void/Refund Sales Non-Integrated

With Integrated Credit Card Payments, refunds are fairly simple. Once the sale is reversed in ConsignCloud, the transaction from the terminal is also reversed.

However, when using Non-Integrated Processing, it's important that when refunding a sale, you complete the right steps on both the terminal and in ConsignCloud and not one or the other.

First void the sale in the Sale Details Page, then separately on your credit card terminal, repeat the action.
