Batches

How to create and save a batch of items in ConsignCloud

Creating a Batch

When adding large numbers of inventory, or multiple similar items, batches can be very helpful! To start a batch, go to the Items Table and select "Batches" from the top of the screen.

Here you can view current batches, draft batches, and create new batches. To create a new batch, click "+Create New Batch" in the top right corner. This will open a popup where you can choose to enter a batch number and a description. If the batch number is left blank, ConsignCloud will autogenerate a number.

Once the batch is created, the item creation fields will appear. Each will have a dropdown list of options for the item, from Accounts to Size. If creating a large number of items with the same Account, Category, etc. fill in those fields before adding more items to the batch. This will ensure that those fields are prefilled with the correct information.

However, if you're creating a batch of items that have different accounts, categories, etc., add the items before you fill in any of the batches. This will add items with completely blank fields.

If you're doing a mix of both and you have 5 items under the same account and category, and then 10 items under a different account, fill in the fields and add the first four items, then clear the fields in the fifth and add a blank item. Fill in the newer information, and then create the next group of items with the new information already filled in.

When the batch is complete, click "Review" in the top right corner. This will open a popup on the right side of your screen.

This review will give you the accounts who have items in the batch, the overall price and cost (if any) of the batch, and will offer the option to print labels and generate purchase orders for the batch. Once everything is set, click "Submit" to create the items in the batch. If you chose to print labels for the batch, the label printing settings will be available for adjustment and a preview label will appear at the bottom.

Once the batch is submitted, you'll see a list of the items as well as their terms, title, price, etc. If necessary, you can add entries to the batch from this screen.

NOTE: If a batch is deleted, the items in it will still exist and be active in your store. So, if you need to delete a bunch of items from the same batch, instead use the "Batch" filter to find the items and bulk delete from there.

Adjusting Fields

To adjust the field columns that appear in the Batch Editing Table, click the plus button on the right side of the screen.

Here you can scroll to find more item fields, remove items from view, and drag and drop to adjust the order of the fields! This makes batch creation customizable and easy.
