Sales tax is necessary for almost every store. In addition, there are some taxes unique to every store. To get started creating a tax, head to Settings > Taxes > New Tax.
This will open the Tax Creation Table on the right side of your screen. Here you can name the tax, decide whether it will be included in the tag price, determine that amount, etc. Rules can be applied to these taxes to ensure that they are applied to the correct items. Tags and Categories are an excellent way to do this.
Once all the proper information is in place, click save. Your tax will now apply to every item according to the rules you set in place.
NOTE: It is very easy to apply a tax like sales tax to every single item in your store. However, in the Item Creation Table, you can also mark an item "Tax Exempt."
