Tiered Splits

Updated this week

Tiered Splits are Splits on items that change depending on what the item's sale price is. This article is not only going to show our stores how to set them up, but also how they affect items.

Setting up Split Tiers

To get started, go to your Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click on your Early Access Features settings. Toggle Enable Tiered Splits ON. This should open a new settings tab Tiered Splits under Items. Click "+Add Tier" to start adding Tiered Splits.

You can add as many splits to your store as you need! The first value will be the minimum price needed for the split to apply to the item, the second is the maximum amount, and the third is whatever percentage the consignor will receive for that item.

NOTE: make sure that you don't leave any gaps or duplicates in your Tiered Splits. For example, if your split tier is $10-$15 = 30% and the next is $16-$20 = 45%, any item between $15 and $16 will not apply Tiered Splits and will default to whatever your store's default split is.

Once you're done adding in all of your splits, hit save and start applying them to your items! When entering items, first be sure that Split is added to your list of fields in item entry. If not, add it by clicking the three dot menu in the item creation screen and selecting "Edit Fields" from the dropdown.

When entering items, zeroing out the split field will show "Tiered Split" and the amount applied for that Tiered Split will show up grayed out (See Image Below) with "Tiered Split" to the right of the field. This indicates that the split tier is being applied to the item and not a custom split. If you add a custom split into this field, the Tiered Split will not apply.

NOTE: Split Tiers rules are over-ridden if you type a value into the Split field. Your Split Tiers will not apply—so most of the time, stores will want to hide the Split field, if most of the time their items follow the Split Tier Rules.

On the item detail page for an item with a Tiered Split, the item split will be estimated based off price. Tiered Splits are only calculated fully and applied after the item has sold.

When the item does sell, you can see the Tiered Split in the price breakdown as shown below: (Split Price is $9 to consignor and $11 to store 45%/55% as set up in Split Tiers Settings)
