Getting Started with Stripe
Stripe's Credit Card Rate
Stripe offers a competitive rate of a 2.7% + 5¢ per successful transaction for domestic cards. For more information on their pricing, see their Terminal Payment Product here. Getting started with Stripe is very easy and entirely self sign-up—no need to schedule a meeting with salesman to get going. To get started, login to ConsignCloud and navigate to the Stripe Payments option in the Point-of-Sale settings. From there, click "Integrate Stripe" to create a ConsignCloud-linked Stripe account.

Have questions about your Stripe account setup? Once you have created an account, you will have access to Stripe's Help Agent, who can connect you with a real person if you ask!
Credit Card Terminal
Your next step is to go ahead and decide on (and purchase) a credit card terminal! ConsignCloud is compatible with any of the three terminals listed on Stripe's Terminal page:
Stripe Reader S700 (and Stripe Reader S710) ($349)
BBPOS WisePOS E ($249)
Stripe Reader M2 ($59)
Once purchased, terminals often arrive in the U.S. in under a week—or even just a few days!
Setting up your Stripe Terminal
Once you have received your Stripe terminal, follow these instructions to set up your terminal with ConsignCloud. First, navigate to Settings » Sales » Point of Sale in the Settings menu. From there, select the "Stripe" terminal option at the top of your screen.
––Linking your Stripe Account and ConsignCloud Store––
Here, you can integrate your Stripe account with your ConsignCloud store. Complete the login/sign-up to your Stripe account and return to this page to complete setup.
––Stripe Settings Page––
Adding a Location
Once the page tells you your Stripe account has been integrated successfully, you can add a location.
NOTE: You will not be able to add a Reader in your Stripe settings until a Location is added.
To add a location, click "Create Location" and then click "Stripe Dashboard".
––Creating a Stripe Location––
This will take you back to Stripe to allow you to add a location. In the top right corner of your screen, click "+ Create Location" (see image below) and fill out the necessary details (e.g. address and location name).
––Managing your Locations in Stripe––
Once the location is successfully added, it will look like this on the Stripe Settings page in ConsignCloud:
Registering your Reader
Now that your ConsignCloud account is connected to your Stripe account with a store location, you can now set up your credit card terminal. In ConsignCloud, under "Readers", click the "Register Reader" button.
Clicking this button will take you to this screen:
––Register your Reader in ConsignCloud––
If your Reader is charged, 'ON', and set up, you can now swipe (left to right) on your terminal's screen to reveal "Device Settings". Click on that, then click "Generate Pairing Code" on the next pop-out. The screen should say: "Register this Reader"––"Enter the following code in your point of sale app or website" and then three consecutive words (e.g. apple-banana-cucumber). Enter that code into the Registration Code field in ConsignCloud (see image above), and name your terminal. Hit "Save", and you're ready to test the Reader out!
Using your Terminal in the ConsignCloud POS
To start making credit card payments in the ConsignCloud POS using the Stripe Reader, add your desired items to the sale screen and click "Pay $X.00" at the bottom of the page.
––Accepting a Credit Card Payment in the ConsignCloud POS––
Then select "Debit/Credit" as the payment method, and click "Complete Payment" before charging. The first time you do this, it will ask you to select a Reader.
––Selecting a Reader Before Using the Stripe Terminal––
Select the Reader you created in your Stripe settings, and the terminal will prompt you to tap or insert with a display of the payment amount.
