Introduction to Reports
"Reports" is a broad term which encompasses a variety of ways ConsignCloud is able to visualize and group your data for powerful insights into your store's activity. This article focuses specifically on the two official Reports contained in the Reporting tab of Next-Gen ConsignCloud—Sales and Items (pictured below):
It's important to understand that you can get very powerful data from ConsignCloud by simply examining your ConsignCloud Items, Accounts, and Inventory tables. Do two people both consign at your store, and you want to know how many items the two of them currently have active on the floor? Go into the Items table, filter for all active items in both of these two accounts, and see how many results you get! A simple report for a simple question: all done just within the Items table.
For most of your day-to-day operations, you'll find that the Items, Accounts, and Sales table have answers to almost all of your question with just a few filters. However, occasionally you need deeper insights into your store's performance—that's why we have automatically generated a comprehensive sales report, as well as Items report—to help you understand how you store is performing.
Sales
NOTE: To understand the Sales Report, we would suggest also reading through the key terms in our ConsignCloud Glossary.
NOTE: At the time of the launch of Next-Gen ConsignCloud, the Sales Report does not currently include the ability to filter this report by till, as you can do in ConsignCloud Classic.
The Sales Report is designed to give you instant information about how your store is performing. To navigate to the Sales Reporting menu, click on Reports > Sales.
The first thing to do when looking at this screen is to set the date range for your report. ConsignCloud generates this Sales Report based on comparative data: we are always going to tell you how your store is performing in comparison to how it did in a previous date range. You can select this date range by clicking on the Date button in the top right hand corner (pictured below).
When you click on this button, ConsignCloud will give you a number of options to choose from, or you can create your own custom range. Regardless of what date or range you pick, ConsignCloud will always give you comparative data based on that range, but with that exact amount of time in the past.
As an example, if you select "Today" ConsignCloud will give you today's sales data, compared to yesterday's sales data. If you select "Today and Yesterday" as the range, ConsignCloud will give you the day before yesterday and the day before that as your comparative data. If you select the month of January as your range, then ConsignCloud will give you the entire month of December as your comparative data.
Once you've set the Date Range, the Sales Reporting tab is broken down into three distinct sales Reports.
Sales Overview
Sales Summary
Payment Types
Sales Overview
The Sales Overview is a quick graph which gives you a visual chart of your store's sales over a given time period. The data representing the date range you selected is the Green Line, while the comparative data is the Grey Line.
Sales Summary
The Sales Summary is designed to give you a line by line breakdown of your store's sales—and exactly what your bottom line is!
The Sales Summary is a table, broken down into these columns:
Item - Line Item
Previous - Amount of Dollars ($) in the previous period
Current - Amount of Dollars ($) in the current period
Change - The positive or negative change (indicated as a percentage) between the two periods
The various line items are broken down into three main items: Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Profit (pre-taxes) and then Profit.
For exact definitions of each of these terms, check out our expanding Glossary below:

Payment Types
This report shows the amounts collected of each payment type in the ConsignCloud POS. Refunded amounts are subtracted from the collected amounts.
This report can also be printed or exported, just like the Sales Summary.
NOTE: This report does not include any payment made via Shopify or Square. This report only pulls data from sales processed via the ConsignCloud Register.
Item Performance
If you're looking for the Inventory Insights Report from ConsignCloud Classic, you'll find it in Next-Gen ConsignCloud as the Items Performance report, pictured below:
The basics of the Item Performance Report are exactly the same as Inventory Insights: click here to read out article explaining the Inventory Insights Report from ConsignCloud Classic.
NOTE: Only stores with advanced reporting enabled will be able to access the Items Performance Report.
I don't see something in these reports which I am used to in ConsignCloud Classic—what should I do?
Not to worry, we know that there might be some aspects of the old Inventory Insights Report, or Sales Report which you like better than what you are seeing right now in ConsignCloud Next-Gen! You can always log back in to Classic to pull any data you would like from the old report.
